Hi, I am considering using Animcraft. It looks like a nice more affordable alternative to a suit. But, I have some questions that I hope maybe someone can answer for me about it. I use Blender and the Unreal Engine. Does it support Rigify? I am not sure but in the tutorial it kind of looked like Auto Rig Pro was being used. Not that I do not have Auto Rig and can certainly use it. Rigify just has more support for it and has become very advanced compared to Auto Rig ever since the new Pupa addon hit the Blender Marketplace. And does it capture through real time key framing or is everything made out in a bake within the Blender environment? And if it is key framed, is the real time key frame rate set to 1 frame per key for both rotation and location? And can you say record body movements first and separately and then record a facial animation in exactly the right places where you would want them to be over that body recording that you just did? And then afterwards just manually animate the hands? And again is it possible to do all of that with real time key frames? And is the process for animation similar to how it is in Blender with with the UE4 and soon to be UE5 rig application?

Thanks for your email, let me answer your questions:
I use Blender and the Unreal Engine. Does it support Rigify? I am not sure but in the tutorial it kind of looked like Auto Rig Pro was being used. Not that I do not have Auto Rig and can certainly use it. Rigify just has more support for it and has become very advanced compared to Auto Rig ever since the new Pupa addon hit the Blender Marketplace. Yes, it supports.
And does it capture through real time key framing or is everything made out in a bake within the Blender environment? And if it is key framed, is the real time key frame rate set to 1 frame per key for both rotation and location? Blender support is limited to baked frames (no keyframe) at this point
And can you say record body movements first and separately and then record a facial animation in exactly the right places where you would want them to be over that body recording that you just did? I think they can be recorded separately at different paces.
And then afterward just manually animate the hands? Yes the hand animation need to by made manually.
And again is it possible to do all of that with real time key frames? No.
And is the process for animation similar to how it is in Blender with the UE4 and soon-to-be UE5 rig application? We'll support ue rig in near future.
Cheers, Yeah

Okay, that is perfect I think. I have never worked with animation bakes other than vdb files, which allow you to offset the animation for when it is to begin. So I would imagine that bake, which is probably a bvh, probably works the same. Is that how it works? If so I think it will be perfect for me. It is a much nicer alternative to the suits.
Thanks, Justin

Is that possible to share a vdb file with us? I think the vdb file is from Houdini? I do not understand your question very well. Cheers, Yeah Okay, that is perfect I think.
