Hey, I would like to simulate speech. I know that I can run blendshape, add bones to the jaw, it can give you a realistic enough effect - combination of bone and blendsape. It is only problematic to control the blendshape precisely.
So I am considering another solution - use standard Maya Geometry Cache. The head we do as a separate mesh, we animate different behaviors in Maya, such as the sequences of speech. Then we export Cashe Geometry. And in MiArmy we use Cashe in the same way as the action.
Desision example. I am in bound play Cashe - cry and speak.
We can not only animate speech and mimics and control them easily. We can change the shape of any mesh.
