Hello,
using MiarmyExpress 3.0 linux, maya 2014.
The Arnold DSO won't render agents ( loco casual, formal,...) correct with 'randomized textures'. Many parts of the agents are not shaded, some parts are...
The arnold DSO for maya 2014, linux version must have some kind of bug...
Is it possible to check this, and send met the correct version
If I use the 'combat agents', they render correctly...(they use NO randomized textures)
many thanks,
bern

I tested the Arnold DSO in Linux this morning, Seems everything is alright. Please see attachement picture for stadium agent: And also please see the casual man test: Are your using "Mesh Drive 3.0" or "Arnold Procedural"?? Hello,
I'm using the Arnold DSO.(Procedural)
MeshDrive 3.0 works good...
Arnold DSO rendering gives problems when using 'randomize textures'
What is the path for your arnold test render folder? (artest and artestrender)
Maybe there is something wrong with my directory setup, because the file aishader.ass is NOT in the same folder as 'assStandin' and 'ProPrimAssets'. That could be the problem??
Is it possible to send me the maya scene file /screen pictures of miarmy cache and render paths?
thanks,
bern

Hello Bern, I was using the Miarmy Direct Agent Scenes. directly downloaded from: www.basefount.com/solutionsNow the problem seems like the aiShader.ass not exported correctly. I exported the render contents to /opt/abc/artest Would you please do some little test such as: build a simple cube and assign a shader and render it with arnold DSO? I'm sorry for bring this problem, The mel command export shader is all from Arnold, not Miarmy it's: melCmd = 'arnoldExportAss -f "' + shaderFile + '" -asciiAss -mask 16 -lightLinks 0 -shadowLinks 0;'And may I ask which version of arnold are you using? Hello,
been testing this..;same error...
My aiShader.ASS file is allways exported to the wrong directory, namely the DATA folder...
I searched the net with google for ' ASS export' and did found some thread about someone having the same problems when exporting... The files are alwaysr writen to the DATA folder of Maya....
See the second to last post in this link...
He starts with:
"Hi Toke,
Well I've been running some tests today and running into the same problems you encountered. When I try to Publish an ASS file, it does export, but it does so in the data folder in the Maya Project folder. There it creates our whole server structure."
I got the same problem...
How can we solve this problem, because I don't know how to code...
Many thanks and greetings...

Hello Bern, You're problem is weird, please be patient, we'll find a way to solve it. We're sorry about the inconvenience. 1. Would you please try this MEL command: arnoldExportAss -f "e:/aiShader.ass" -asciiAss -mask 16 -lightLinks 0 -shadowLinks 0;you can change the "e:/aiShader.ass" to whatever you like existed in you machine. And see is the file exported to the right place. 2. May I ask, If you put the aiShader.ass from DATA folder to right place, is the image can be rendered out correctly?? Thank you for your detailed feedback! Best regards! --Yeah Hello, been testing this..;same error... My aiShader.ASS file is allways exported to the wrong directory, namely the DATA folder...
