Hello. I have recently downoaded the Express edition for Maya 2014, and I have had trouble rendering agents in Mental ray. I was merely testing an army of spheres in an unsaved scene, but nothing renders. I would assume that the agent limit goes to placement, but I would like that confirmed. Here is what I've been doing, and please tell me if I missed a step. Also, I'm just testing rendering, not simulation: - Modeled the sphere and skinned it
- Placed everything under the setup group
- Created Original agent
- Sent active geo to original agent
- Created placement node
- Adjusted the placement node to give a formation with 50 agents
- Placed the agents
- Went to render globals and established a Mental ray cache location and name
- Hit Setup Current Frame
- Rendered
- NOTHING...
To top it all off, this is what the output window has been spitting out 50 instances of this error: API 0.4 17 MB error 301189: group 4::testing: instance "4::pSphere1_locoGeoShape_27" unknown, cannot resolve
If anyone can figure out a solution to this, PLEASE let me know.

Thank you for your testing! Due to the mental ray procedural almost the same efficient and memory consuming than mesh drive 3.0, so, we only provide mesh drive 3.0 render the mental ray Seems like you get it through ~~ If you want to render huge amount of agents such as tons of thousands, you have to use v-ray/arnold/renderman procedural dso:) Best regards --Yeah Nevermind. Neglected MeshDrive entirely. Feel free to lock this thread.
