Hi,
Congratulations on a great plugin.
I seem to have a bug where I'm trying to render an animation through vray.
I have set up the scene RENDER>V-Ray>Setup scene sequence. However when I go to render, it only renders the frame selected in the timeline repeatedly for the whole animation, instead of updating to the next frame.
If I move the time slider, and try to render the animation, the same thing will happen - vray keeps rendering that frame only....
How do I fix this?
Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I will do that, but would say this is an issue that would need to be fixed in future.
Also, is the Max 2012 the latest version of the max plugin or do you support max 2014? I ask as our pipeline here is max based.
Thanks

Dear Frizbee69, Thank you very much for your evaluation The problem because V-Ray plugin is very weird in Maya and it need script control and call each frame when Maya batch mode (or batch render). But this meet a Maya General Bug from Maya itself and we tried to solve this before but no success. We'll continue test it since you asked. But we still highly recommend you use the standalone method, it's more faster and can be send to any renderfarm ~~ Regarding the Max, 1. The vray plugin for Max 2012 is Vray Adv 2.30.01 2. And we'll try to add the support for Max 2014 (vray 3.0) this week and we would upload the update if we done it this weekend Hope everything will be all right. Thank you and best regards! --Yeah Thanks for the quick reply. I will do that, but would say this is an issue that would need to be fixed in future. And I'll let you know whether we can make the 3ds max 2014 vray 3 plugin next Monday. Thank you! --Yeah Many thanks for your quick response. We are strongly considering purchasing your plugin. Thanks

Hi, just to let you know, that if you try and use the deadline render manager using the vray standalone and the vrscene sequence, you get the same problem of the same frame rendering without updating that you do in maya. I will try the .bat method now.
Ideally I would like to use the max plugin when its ready. Will it import the textures with the proxys in max?
Thanks

Hello Frizbee69, We'll provide texture port but maybe current you need write a 3dsMax Script to assign shader in 3ds max. We'll provide details doc for that, It need use that multi-sub object shader. And in future, we'll maybe write the Max code for users for assign the shaders. Oh, yes that problem will happen when render in Maya file. except each Maya file render 1 frame in deadline I think. I hope this explained well. Cheers! --Yeah Hi, just to let you know, that if you try and use the deadline render manager using the vray standalone and the vrscene sequence, you get the same problem of the same frame rendering without updating that you do in maya. I understand what you mean.
By the way - the batch file method is not working. I have a feeling all the vrscene files are identical?

Hello Frizbee69, It should not identical if setup correctly, Would you please send us a scene file for testing?? This feature is new and tested by few clients, so I'm not sure is there any further problem. Sorry for bringing such inconvenience~~ Cheers! --Yeah I understand what you mean. Sure - where do I send?
The scene however is the locomotion test scene included with the locomotion agents?
From there I place the agents, cache the simulation, render>vray>setup scene sequence, render>vray>export .vrscene>entire sequence.

Hello Frizbee69, Your problem is very easy to fix: Please turn off "Animation" in VRay Common, and then export "vrscene" onece again, everything will be OK Would you please try to fix it and try again? And in future we'll make this automatically. Thank you very much for your feedback and help! Really appreciate! Have a nice day! --Yeah Sure - where do I send?
