Hi,
I'm working my way through the Miarmy tutorials (Miary 2.0, Maya 2013) and having some success. I am using Renderman and so the preview render (3Delight) isn't available (they won't coexist).
I'm now using the alembic cache, which saves the agent motion OK, but wondered how I can render out the shader information. The original agent is fully shaded but all the placed agents have the correct geometry but just the default grey lambert shader.
Any help appreciated.

Hello Rob Adams, Thank you for your testing! it's our honor!! 1. Firstly I think they will coexist because the 3delight paths are all not the same as renderman. But I dont have 3delight at my workstation. 2. Regarding the alembic cache: (1) The shader need re-connect to the polygon meshes for letting them render-able. maybe some mel script may help~~ By the way: (2) the fastest way to export alembic cache, is mesh drive 3 and export the alembic cache from duplicated meshes. Hi,
I've created my original agent, no problem and imported some obj geometry. I've checked that the transforms and scale is 'frozen' to zero and one respectively and skinned this to the agent.
Placed multiple agents.
When I try and duplicate the mesh, I get an error about my geometry having a scale value, although it shows as 1.
Where am I going wrong?

Hello Rob, Your problem solved, Please find a script in attachment McdGeneral.py and replace that one in: <install place>/Basefount/Miarmy/maya/scripts It's caused by the precision of float number. your file is 100% OK!!
